INTERIOR DESIGN - GUEST ROOM & STUDIO
Hola!
I'm writing this post from my old bedroom at my paren't house in Lima. It's crazy when I think of how many times I changed the color of the walls, the decor and obviously the furniture placement. I had DIY clouds over a blush palette; a dark blue ceiling with all constellations in the southern hemisphere made with glow-in-the-dark tiny stars (Oh! the 90s...); and fucsia & silver furniture with a wall of mirrors to make the space look bigger. My love for interior design has accompanied me since I can remember.
And today I'm sharing my latest design at home. Yay! I can't say it's definitive - because design evolves - but I'm pretty happy with the transformation of our spare bedroom which became both our guest bedroom and my personal studio / home office. What do you think?! :)
GUEST ROOM & STUDIO by Splendor Styling
This sofa bed fits perfectly in between our bookshelves. I styled them using books, boxes and baskets to maximize the use of space, and store little things like usb's, stationary, etc. I also placed golden accessories around the room to make it more cohesive, and brighten up the black and white palette.
The desk area is full of light and my favorite leather chair doubles as a desk chair and extra sitting for guests.
These blue velvet pillows were a must and the perfect pop of color. I felt in love with them at first sight, and paired them with brown faux fur ones, and a white and gold I painted myself. The horse wall art was also an immediate crush. You can never go bad with horses in your decor.
I kept the TV in the room only for when we have people over. So, on a regular basis it's camouflaged by art and favorite pieces standing on top of the biggest storage unit we have at home.
This leather bench is fantastic to store sheets and towels, and it doubles as a coffee table. I placed a tray and some flowers on top of it and it's ready to welcome a couple of cocktails for guests.
I spend a lot of time in here working on my business, writing on the blog and creating new projects. It's definitely a very personal space for me and I LOVE IT!
